Carmel Köster

Has been teaching in Prodance Dance center and many other studios since 2004 and with that earned a reputation as one of the first and most recognized street dance teachers in the Baltic region. Carmel has also studied in New York, Nice, Paris and Stockholm. One of the founders of Twisted Dance Co in Estonia. Member of Ragdollz. Graduated Diambra dance line 07/08 by Ambra Succi. Appeared in numerous dance shows, performances, music videos etc such as "The Last Bounce" , “Fame“, “Romeo and Juliet the remix“ , “Episode I“ G. Loringett. Choreographed for a lot of different artists and shows also worked for brands such as Nike, Team Nihilist, Converse.

Vad lär man sig på dina klasser?

I try and put a lot of emphasis on style, rythmicality and dynamics in my class. I want to make my students really perform in classes and push their limits to the max in quality of movement as well as not forgetting what they are portraying to the audience and the character they have to present, whatever it may be.

Vad tycker du är viktiga egenskaper hos en dansare?

I think the most important quality in a dancer is probably ambition and focuse. A skill to start on a clean slate with every piece their handed. To put aside selfishness while still letting their personality shine through. It's not exactly just one quality – talent is work!

Vad gör din stil unik?

I guess everybody's style is unique in a way. My style is heavily inspired by the music I listen to and choose to work with, also by fashion and urban culture overall. I tend to mix styles to compliment each other. I'm always on the look out for something new and exiting, trying not to get stuck in the past but to incorporate the new and the old, have fun with it and just see what comes out. I love to experiment.
